Have a piece in mind but it’s no longer available? We can build furniture to match the discontinued product using top-grade and kiln-dried solid hardwood and Old-World methods like dovetailing and tongue-and-groove joinery. MMW can create, recreate, or customize just about anything you wish, including cast bronze statuary. Commission a piece of furniture from any style or era. Choose any upholstery, finish, stain, paint color, or level of distress. Then, we will incorporate quality materials with your choices to create beautiful and long-lasting furniture. We offer different levels of custom finishing and materials to help accommodate your budget.

Custom Finishing Options

Level of Customization: Premium is our top-of-the-line product with all bells and whistles like kiln-dried hardwoods and best finishes. Gently Distressed includes kiln-dried hardwoods and our wax finish for antiqued appearance.Rustic includes air-dried wood and simple stain for rustic Old-World appeal.

Begin by choosing your level of customization, desired materials, preferred paints and stains, upholstery or marble/granite where appropriate, or top coat. Finalize the process by selecting your furniture’s hardware, finish, and style.

The joinery method is tongue-and-groove and tenon-and-mortise. Some products may include plywood parts. You will not find MDF (medium density board) particle boards or inexpensive composites in our products. Feel free to request different materials or construction methods for an additional charge. Because we are involved with every aspect of construction, we maintain direct control over the process and outcome. We guarantee excellent craftsmanship and customer satisfaction with every custom order.

Top Coat Choices

Satin Finish: standard semi-gloss finish; Wax Polish Finish: matte finish ideal for an antiqued look; NC Gloss Finish: gloss finish with lacquer layer that yields a more protective surface 

Upholstery and Hardware

• Choose from our standard or stock selection (free of charge)
• Choose a specialty fabric outside the standard or not in stock (additional charges)
• COM (Customer’s Own Material): send your own fabric or hardware to our factory overseas
• Un-upholstered: have the piece delivered; it will be covered in white muslin, ready for upholstery
• No hardware: have your finished item delivered without hardware

MMW also offers glass pieces such as tempered or frosted glass as well as custom bronze statuary using the wax-casting method. Our custom bronze is carved and finished by hand. All custom furniture is handmade. Like anything made “the old-fashioned way,” each piece effectively becomes one of a kind, a fact that adds value.
