The Resolute Presidential Desk is a stunning replica of the iconic desk used in the Oval Office of the White House. The original desk was crafted from the timbers of HMS Resolute, a British Arctic exploration ship that became trapped in ice in 1853 while searching for the Northwest Passage. After being abandoned and later discovered by an American whaler, the ship was restored by the United States and returned to Great Britain. In 1880, Queen Victoria commissioned desks from its salvaged timbers and presented one to President Rutherford B. Hayes.
Since then, the Resolute Desk has been used by numerous U.S. Presidents, including Franklin D. Roosevelt, John F. Kennedy, Ronald Reagan, Bill Clinton, George W. Bush, Barack Obama, and Donald Trump.
Our Resolute Presidential Desk is handcrafted from certified plantation-grown mahogany. Indonesian mahogany allows for detailed carvings faithful to the historic original. The desk is fully customizable with a variety of finishes and optional leather inlays.
